In the course of his 37 year career as a professional global educator, Alfred has exceled as a veteran teacher of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science, a highly regarded school leader, and a professional development facilitator.

During his tenure as principal, Alfred worked to enhance learning outcomes by empowering school leaders through coaching, mentoring and professional development. Further, he initiated and engaged in partnerships between schools in Uganda and the United Kingdom, thereby developing collective knowledge and appreciation for issues of diversity, inclusivity, leadership and global citizenry.

He also served as the National Vice Chairperson of the Association of Secondary School Head teachers of Uganda, responsible for professional development and Information Communicational Technology (ICT) of school leaders across the country. In addition to his multiple contributions to association leadership, Alfred made significant impact as a member of African Confederation of Principals and International Confederation of Principal, regional and global professional associations, respectively.

Over the past two-and-a-half decades, he has facilitated a variety of numerous professional development programs (locally and globally) for school boards, school leaders, teachers, and non-teaching staff. He has also engaged parents in a variety of awareness programs.

He is a validated trainer of British Council global professional development programs, including, inter alia, Connecting Classrooms, Global Citizenship, Leading Learning for Gender Equality for school leaders, Gender Equality and Inclusion for teachers and School Partnership. He is also a validated Expert Trainer for Instructional Leadership course of the British Council. Alfred was one of the four Finalists in the Baldev Singh Impact Award 2020, awarded jointly by the British Council and Imagine Education (UK), and in which he was recognized “For demonstrating impact through innovative, creative and dynamic training”. He has facilitated both in-person and virtual training sessions for school leaders and teachers.

In 2021, he facilitated Instructional Leadership course for South Africa school leaders, and thereafter mentored them. He trained and coached school leaders and teachers in refugee-host schools, with focus on Language for Resilience support and Social Emotional Learning. In his long career, Alfred worked with Education Service Commission of Uganda (representing the ministry of education in interviews), Directorate of Education Standards, a national quality assurance authority (as an Associate Assessor), National Curriculum Development Centre, where he prepared trainers for the New Lower Secondary School Curriculum that was first implemented in 2020. He is passionate about Web and Systems Development, and adept at Online Course Development, especially in the realms of leadership, education, and ICT.

Through the advancement of technology in teaching and learning, he has been a true change agent. Alfred was one of the pioneering teachers in Uganda to use CyberSchool Technology and technology-based pedagogy. He trained teachers under the World Bank computer-based SchoolNet program supported by the then World Links for Development and thereby helped to link teachers and schools and spearhead innovative use of ICT in education. Alfred is a member of International School Leadership, a Canada-based professional development arm of Ontario Principals Council in Toronto. He is a Director of the Advisory Board of Educational Leadership Africa Magazine, headquartered in New York.
