Maureen Shipota Mulendema is a self-motivated and result-oriented professional with a strong desire to develop skills in school leadership, training development, and organizational development. Since 2012, Maureen has been a validated trainer for the British Council, conducting trainings in 21st-century core skills, school leadership, instructional leadership, and gender equality. Her commitment to delivering high-quality training experiences has been recognized and appreciated by participants.
Since May 2014, Maureen has served as a District Education Standards Officer for the Ministry of Education in Zambia. In this role, she ensures that standards are effectively instilled, honed, and upheld by teachers, staff, and school leaders. She has conducted both face-to-face and virtual trainings, showcasing her adaptability and proficiency in different training environments.
Maureen holds a Master’s degree in Adult Education, equipping her with a solid theoretical foundation and advanced knowledge in her field. Additionally, she possesses a Diploma in Education Leadership and Management, further enhancing her skills in leading and managing educational institutions.
Maureen’s passion for capacity building is evident in her extensive experience co-training over 1,000 teachers and school leaders in eight out of the ten provinces of Zambia. Furthermore, she played a significant role in facilitating the training of over 800 school leaders in Zimbabwe in 2020 and 2021. Maureen’s expertise and dedication were recognized when she was selected as one of the three coaches responsible for training and mentoring the current British Council facilitators in instructional leadership in Zimbabwe. She has also coached over 30 expert trainers and master trainers in virtual training skills, working with participants from South Africa.
In her district, Maureen consistently designs trainings for teachers and head teachers based on identified gaps. Her proactive approach ensures that the training programs she develops address the specific needs and challenges faced by educators and school leaders.
